Default Charr totem in Pre-searing

Has anyone noticed the big burned insect-like things in charr teritory in pre-sear? I noticed them while charr-hunting once, at first I though they only appeared only after you killed the bosses, but I later saw they are always there. They are burned totem of either wood and look like shouting insects (or maybe a end-game mob, i haven't done the game yet).

I found 2 in the far east if memory serves, I think there's one morth in the center part and 1 near the charr at the end of the Across the Wall quest. Sorry for not posting screenshots, i haven't found how to post one.

This?

It's a burning effigy of a High-End enemy, you're right

I won't ruin it for you by telling you what they are

i will.

the burning effigys are modled after burning titans who the charr worship as gods. they themselves have no real effect on the actual gameplay but do end up having some significance later in the story.

I dont think thats a Big Spoiler actually, and it isnt terribly detaield out in the story.

But yes, The Charr worship the Titans. You'll learn alot about them later on.

Knowing this really helps you put the story together better anyway.

So that's what they look like.

Well, thanks for the info. I know a bit about the titans from these forum but being at Abadon's Mouth i didn't know what they looked like.

It's impossible the charr respect the Mursaat since they worship the Titans and Titans and Mursaat are each other's worst enemy. I say 1: it doesn't look like a mursaat, 2: if it is a mursaat, they're probably preparing it for dinner.

It actually looks as if the charr at the base of the effigy is being readied to cook, that or hes had to much stolen dwarven ale.

Since I see a lack of detail compared to the titan figure, I think that if it is a mursaat, the burning of it is ment in offence...

Read the Prophecies manual. In the description of the Charr it mentions that they worship their gods with fire. Fire is considered the holiest of the holy things, so igniting things in flames... well that's a compliment.

I guess they were complimenting Althea too when they burned her alive.

Actually, they were complimenting her parents, on the birth of such a delicious daughter!

lol ...

I agree with the person that said it's considered a act of loyalty to the Titans by burning their enemy mursaat.

Charr are speculated to worship the Titans. It would make sense, but it's still just a theory.

well....

im quite new to the whole lore subject but illl give it a go about what i think...

The charr, no doubht worship the titans. And with the scepter of Orr the Vizier controlls the titans. If the Charr hadnt created the searing the Flame Seeker Prophecies wouldnt of happened. But where did the charr get that kind of fire power from?

Just maybe the titans left the charr in possesion with that magic to trigger the flame seeker prophecies.
